# EUDR: Add wood species and production periods

> EUDR: Add wood species and production periods — Polygon One

1. Open the article or plot-import review area.
2. For wood, enter the common and scientific names of each species actually present.
3. Enter the production start and end dates. The end must not precede the start.
4. Check the values for each plot and confirm through the offered save or import step.

If your file includes this information, check the mapped columns and values. A column heading alone does not prove that its cells are filled. A period entered in the form does not establish that every row should have that same period.

Use unambiguous table dates such as `2026-03-01` or `01.03.2026`; avoid ambiguous dates with slashes.

If you do not know the species or period, ask the producer. Do not invent scientific names from generic wood descriptions or estimate dates merely to complete the import.
