Use the sub-supplier option when another supplier holds the production information. Do not forward your own invitation: it gives access to your response.
  1. Open the product’s origin-data section and choose the offered upstream-supplier option.
  2. Check or add the upstream supplier’s company and contact details.
  3. Identify the input materials involved. Supply the requested article name, article number and HS code from your records.
  4. Review the products and recipient before confirming the invitation. Use the delivery option offered by the form.
  5. If the form shows a new sub-supplier link, copy it and send it only to the intended supplier. If you chose email delivery, check the result: a created or delegated request does not prove that the email arrived. Never send your original invitation.
  6. Return to your tasks and check progress. Continue with the information and questions you can answer yourself.
An invitation sent to an upstream supplier does not mean that they have replied, that origin data is complete, or that your own response has been submitted. Check the returned information before relying on it.
Check the existing supplier and request before creating another invitation. If the address, products or assignment are wrong, use the available correction controls or ask your customer. Do not create repeated requests to clear a pending status.
Ask whether the material is genuinely covered by an upstream DDS. If neither route is supported, tell your customer what is missing. Do not invent a producer or coordinates.
