Open an item in the request and check its scope. A file for one component must not be treated as evidence for every component in the unit.
Open the requested unit or component and choose data entry. Add the known name, material, mass and requested properties. Keep units explicit: for example, grams for mass and percentages for recycled content. Positive recycled-content claims need their source and method; substance measurements or assessments need an evidence basis. Unit and component guidance explains the fields.
Use the component import offered in a packaging-unit response. Download its current template, keep the required headers and use one row per component. Select the completed CSV or Excel file and read the result. Missing columns need the correct template or headers; an empty result needs valid data rows. Correct skipped rows before importing them again. Check the components added to the response and avoid adding duplicates by repeatedly importing the same file.Importing rows into the response does not itself submit them. Wait for the draft confirmation and complete the final review.
Upload a readable specification, test report or other relevant evidence through the item’s document area. Check the recognised type and assignment. Where automatic extraction is available, compare suggested values with the source: material, units, mass, recycled content, substance results and the exact packaging covered. Correct inaccurate suggestions and fill only gaps you can substantiate.Follow document upload and review for rejected, unreadable or misclassified files. A successful upload does not mean the extracted data is correct or accepted.
You may be able to provide documents or a partial answer when some values are unknown. The review distinguishes data-ready items from items supported only by documents. Do not enter zero, guess values or remove legitimate warnings just to make a section appear complete. Before leaving, check what was saved. Then review and send the response.
