Your master data connects suppliers, articles and, for composite products, their materials. It provides the starting point for data collection. Creating a record does not mean all origin information is available or that an article is compliant.

Where do I start?

Check master data in three steps

1

Identify the business partner

Check the supplier name, external supplier ID, contact and country. The supplier country controls parts of order and invitation automation; it is not automatically the country of production.
2

Link articles and suppliers

Use stable article numbers and check the HS code, article type and supplier assignment. Automatic EUDR classification can require a manual check, for example for certain ex positions. Add material information when the particular article requires it.
3

Check results and close data gaps

After an import, review new, updated, skipped and failed records. Then check Supplier Gaps and request missing origin information or add it yourself.
Article and order imports can trigger supplier requests when company automation is enabled. Check contact details and the intended workflow under Automatic Requests first.
